Academic Profile

Originally graduating with a 2:1 in BA (Hons) English Studies and Psychology from Oxford Brookes University I went onto complete both the CIM Professional and Professional Postgraduate Diplomas in Marketing before achieving a MA Marketing Management (Merit) in 2009 from the University of Derby. My dissertation looked at branding in higher education and its influence on buyer behaviour.

As a part time PhD student (traditional route) based at the University of Derby my academic research interests in marketing focus on branding and relationship marketing in Higher Education. I have recently conducted a two year pilot study about motivations in course and university choice and the link between expectations and experiences on satisfaction. A short three minute summary of my pilot study can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/75720996

With a strong interest in visual and creative communications I aim to bring my professional creative flair to the academic arena to make my research more widely accessible. My Director of Studies is Tim Heap who is based in the School of Culture and Lifestyle at the Buxton Campus.
